BAREILLY:
Over 100 schools in the district have failed to submit data required
under a central government scheme to monitor quality of education,
prompting the education department officials to plan disciplinary action
against the defaulters.
As per reports, in spite of several reminders from the education department, these schools are yet to fill and submit data capture form (DCF) with them. The last date for submission of DCF by school authorities was November 30, which was later extended by the education department. The department is expected to submit the data to the authorities concerned by December 24.
Education department officials said several notices were issued and letters dispatched to all schools to fill DCF before November 30. However, on appeal of school authorities, relaxation of around a week was given to schools. Even after the due date, over 100 schools have not filled out the data and submitted it.
The data is required to be submitted every year under central governments scheme of Unified District Information System for Education (UDISE) through which the Centre monitors status and quality of education at district and state level.
Talking to TOI, Principal of Raghuveer Sahay Jouhari AVPKHSS Bhoor High School, Babita Bharti said, "We have not received any information regarding the filling of DCF from education department so far. Had we given prior information we world have filled it and submitted it with district education authorities."
A majority of principals of schools alleged that they were not given any information regarding the forms.
On other hand, district project coordinator Arti Mishra said, "Filling of DCF under UDISE is an annual activity which each and every school has to provide on mandatory basis each year. Those schools which fail to submit DCF before December 22 will face disciplinary action. We had issued several reminders and notices asking them to fill DCF as soon as possible and emphasized on timely submission too."
