6 days on, cops still clueless about Kakartola dacoity

Bareilly: Cops are coming under increasing attack as even six days after the Rs 1.5 crore dacoity in broad daylight in Kakartola area, the accused have not been caught.

Police have picked up seven people for interrogation but have failed to make any headway in the case. Youths in the locality are claiming that police are unduly harassing them in connection with the case.

Senior police officials have included crime branch and Special Task Force (STF) to speed up investigation after facing severe criticism from trade unions and others.

The field unit had taken finger prints of family members which will be matched with finger prints collected by field unit soon after incident on December 15.

Talking to TOI, inspector of Baradari Police Station, Mohammad Qasim, said, "Investigation is going on and we are working on several points simultaneously be it putting new numbers on surveillance, taking finger prints or picking up possible suspects. A bottle containing water-like liquid with strange smell has been dispatched for testing and we will find out the chemical used by miscreants which might give a tip off."
