MORADABAD:
Police have arrested three members of 'Khana Badosh' gang, which was
allegedly known for committing crimes during foggy winter nights. The
women gang members reportedly spotted the houses and conducted recce
during the day for the male members.
Looted jewellery, cash and ornaments, besides country-made rifles and heavy arms and ammunition have been recovered from their possession.
The gang was also known as 'kachcha baniya' gang after a raid in a jungle under Pakbada police station.
The members belong to Bijnore, Amroha and others adjacent towns of Uttarakhand border of Moradabad division, police said. They mostly committed robberies at gunpoint, not sparing even children, in houses located in the outskirts of the city and on NH-24. The gang members spoke in Punjabi to mislead victims and police. The women members of the gang would often pose as beggars or labourers.
SP, city, Pradeep Gupta, said, "After interrogation, we will be able to arrest other gang members also." He said the gang was known for using blunt objects to attack people when they were sleeping to rob them.
