Ending two days of chaos and inconvenience to passengers, SpiceJet
resumed is operations on Thursday. While the airlines, in a media
statement, said all 230 flights are scheduled to operate for the day,
eight were cancelled at the Kempegowda International Airport.
Of the cancelled flights, four of them were to depart from Bengaluru. Another eight were delayed. On Wednesday, over 100 passengers were stranded at the airport after 20 flights were cancelled.
While apologizing for the disruptions in the past two days, the airlines said it can now take bookings through the end of the current schedule, which is March 28, 2015. The temporary restriction of 30 days imposed on December 5 has been relaxed by the DGCA, it stated.
The airlines, however, refused to comment on how much money it needs to reimburse for the disruptions. Passengers who want to check status of their flights, make changes or apply for refunds for the cancelled flights can visit http://changes.spicejet.com
The cash-strapped airlines had to ground its entire fleet till Wednesday afternoon as its planes had no fuel to fly.
