SIRSA:
A prisoner attempted suicide here in district jail of Sirsa on Thursday
by slit his vain using a spoon. Identified as Praveen Kumar, the inmate
was rushed to local general hospital, with serious injuries and later
sent back to jail after his condition stablized.
The man even wrote a suicide note in which he leveled allegations against jail superintendent J S Sethi. In his suicide note, Kumar alleged that Sethi thrashed him with sticks without any reason. "This kind of treatment forced me to take the extreme step," he wrote. The HUDA police registered a case against the Praveen for attempt to suicide and started investigation into the matter.
IO Rajender Kumar, said, "A case has been registered against the prisoner Praveen Kumar for attempt to suicide who was nabbed by special CIA staff for his involvement in theft cases."
Meanwhile, jail superintendent J S Sethi said, "Praveen is a history-sheeter. He had earlier attempted suicide in Rajasthan jail and this is his second attempt. Praveen leveled false allegations on me. Police are investigating the matter."
