Haryana to come with new industrial policy to spur MSME growth

CHANDIGARH: Haryana government will come up with a new industrial policy to spur growth and enable micro small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) to realize their potential and keep pace with the market trends. The state industries and commerce department has set its sights on 4% annual growth in the industrial sector.

Haryana chief minister Manohar Lal Khattar, while presiding over a review meeting of the department, directed the officers to invite suggestions from all industrial organizations while framing a new industrial policy of the state. The draft of new industrial policy will be ready by March 2015.

The CM said that representatives of industrial associations, labour unions and other stakeholders should also be involved to get feedback that could lead to industry promotion and attract investments as per aspirations. The aspects impacting the cost factor of industry should also be considered, Khattar said.

It was also informed in the meeting that department was engaged in employment generation and enhancing employability through skill development. Apart from that, a single window mechanism for investors would be adopted for time-bound approvals and clearance with composite applications form.

Those present in the meeting included finance and industries minister Captain Abhimanyu, principal secretary to chief minister Sanjeev Kaushal, additional principal secretary Sumita Misra, principal secretary (finance) P K Das, principal secretary (industries and commerce) Devender Singh and senior officers of the department.
