Avantika Mishra, who was last seen in Neelakanta's Maaya, is busy
learning Kathak these days and says it has a soothing effect on her. "I
learnt Kathak before making my debut in films.
However, my ongoing
commitments don't give me a chance to practice on a regular basis. The
thing with any dance form is that you have to keep practicing it;
otherwise you'll forget the moves. So, whenever I go home I make up for
all the lost time and practice the dance form. In fact, my dance guru
and my mother keep pushing me to take it up whenever I am free. And
whenever I travel, I carry a bunch of kathak videos and learn from that.
It calms me down, whenever I have a bad day," Avantika says.
Currently, the actress is in Hyderabad to shoot for her next Telugu film and next year, she'll start shooting for a Tamil film. And it turns out that she's seriously considering to settle down in one city. "For the past few years, I have been shuttling between Bangalore, Kolkata, Mumbai and Hyderabad. I almost feel like a gypsy; however, I have made up my mind to move to Mumbai permanently and see how things go next year," she signs off.
