For
Amala Paul, December is her most favourite month of the year. Recalling
her childhood Christmas memories, she says, "When I was really young, I
remember going from house to house singing carols and getting lots of
goodies from people. Even today, if I hear someone singing carols on the
streets, I will run out to get a dekko."
The dusky beauty
sadds, "Christmas has always been a family affair, with relatives coming
home from all over the country. My mom was particular that we did not
miss the midnight mass. As a child, I looked forward to showing off my
new dress to my friends. Ever since I got into films, I haven't been
able to do all the things I used to till I was 16. But some things just
don't change — like my love for my mom's Christmas menu. I love the plum
cake and wine which my mother makes. She's an expert at cooking chicken
biryani, which is our annual Christmas special. In fact, I've postponed
my plans to turn vegetarian until after Christmas, just because I
cannot resist my mom's X'mas goodies. Incidentally, this will be my
husband Vijay's first Christmas at home and we're quite excited."
