DELHI: The Central Bureau of Investigation on Thursday carried out
searches at the Noida office and home of BSNL general manager Aadesh
Kumar Gupta. Sources said Gupta was allegedly running infrastructure and
apparel businesses without informing the government, leading to the
searches at his two addresses in sectors 19 and 39.
The agency also searched a Hauz Khas-based company, allegedly run by him and his wife. Cash to the tune of Rs 3.29 lakh was seized from his residence and three lockers were also found apart from documents pertaining to his properties.
CBI sources confirmed that a case under Section 168 of IPC was filed against him.
