Dreams are a seemingly magical
nightly occurrence where we are plunged into a world of strange occurrences and
stories. A lot of people say that before the death of their near and dear ones,
they saw weird dreams like, a large gathering of people, someone lying
motionless, and then after a day or two the bad news came. Dreams of death,
dying and the departed can be extremely scary but, once understood, they can be
most insightful and freeing.

What makes dreams all the more
mystical is the fact that they have not been completely explained by science
and the exact process through which they occur is not understood. Mystics claim
that the world of our dreams can be a connection to other worlds, inaccessible
to our waking consciousness…therefore, since ancient times it is believed that
one should not ignore them. They might have a message, advice or warning that
should be understood...
Ramayana mentions dreams that
indicate death
The Ramayan written by Valmiki also
reveals about such dreams that indicate death in future. According to Valmiki
Ramayan, the day King Dashrath died, one night before Bharat had dreamt of his
father’s death where Dashrath was swimming in cow dung. He was also drinking
oil; he was wearing black surrounded by women wearing black. Bharat also saw
his father wearing red garland and wearing vermilion on his forehead. He was
walking towards Yamraj (God of death).
Signs of Death
The signs of death are of two kinds:
distant and close. The distant signs can be experienced even when we are not
suffering from any particular illness, and are of three kinds: bodily signs,
mental signs, and dream signs. Distant dream signs include repeated dreams that
we are falling from a high mountain, that we are naked, or that we are
travelling across a desert. Let’s take a look at some more dreams that mystics
say warn us of death…
Black
Black symbolizes the unknown, the
unconscious, danger, mystery, darkness, death, mourning, rejection, hate or
malice. The color invites you to delve deeper in your unconscious in order to
gain a better understanding of yourself. It also signifies a lack of love and
lack of support. More positively, black represents potential and possibilities.
It is like a clean or blank slate.
Snakes
The snake is a difficult dream
symbol because it is so widely interpreted among various cultures.
Interpretations run the gamut from blood-curdling fear to wisdom and peace.In
waking life, it is not uncommon to be afraid of snakes. For some people, this
fear is disruptive and pathological, even to the point that a photo of a snake
represents an oppressive threat. For these people, snake dreams are almost
universally bad.
Black cats
For years, black cats have been associated
with magic, witches, and mystery. Dreaming with black cats is a manifest of
insecurity, and fear to the unknown. They are also unfairly associated with bad
luck, which could be a warning of your subconscious for something bad
Falling teeth
Some people believe that when the
teeth fall off in the dreams, that someone really close to them is going to
die. However, a night tooth ache, while we sleep, can trigger the worst
nightmares too.
Black bird
"Death warnings" as they
are called, have nearly all an obvious origin. A raven or other black feathered
bird is seen to alight on the thatch of a cottage where a man is dying.
Nursing baby
If you dream of nursing a baby and
the baby cries, it is believed that you will either die yourself or lose a near
relative.
Saving a drowning man
It is said to be unlucky to save a
drowning man, for on being brought back to life it is thought that he will
wreak vengeance on his rescuer at the dictation of the water spirits who have
thus been baulked of their lawful prey.
Travel plans
Irrespective of how much you are
looking forward to a vacation in you waking life, if you see yourself traveling
or preparing for a trip in your dream, you should avoid taking any travel plans
in the near future. Psychics say that such kind of dream indicates death.
Repetitive nightmares
Death can appear in dreams in many
forms ranging from the near-death experience to wish-fulfillment projected on
others. It may seem to be terrifying, or almost joyful in its sense of power.
We hardly take our dreams and nightmares seriously but if you see the same
scary dreams night and again, it is advisable not to ignore them.
A person who sees that he or she is
singing and dancing to glory in his dream, it indicates that he will be murdered.
In addition, if a person sees himself applying oil on his body and then riding
a donkey, he dies soon.
Drinking alone
If a person sees himself sitting on
a hill or in a graveyard and drinking, it indicates that the person is
surrounded by dark omens of death. Moreover, if a person sees a picture of god
being destroyed in dream, he or she might not have a lot to look forward to.
