Jackson's much awaited film 'The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies'
has opened to a massive 90.6 million dollars in North America.
According to Hollywood Reporter, 'Night at the Museum: Secret of the Tomb' starring Ben Stiller came second with 17.3 million dollar earnings, followed by 'Annie' with 16.3 million dollars.
While 'Exodus: Gods and Kings' came in fourth with 8.1 million dollars and The Hunger Games: Mockingjay - Part 1 was placed fifth with 7.8 million dollar earnings.
The top 10 films at the weekend box office are:
