Classmates beat up Mizo teen in S Delhi

NEW DELHI: A teenager from Mizoram was allegedly beaten up by his classmates outside a private school in south Delhi's RK Puram on Thursday.

Police said a fight broke out between the 15-year-old Mizo student and two other students over a petty issue during which one of them hit the him with a tiffin box, which resulted in a deep cut on his head. The incident was reported around 5pm outside the school.

Family members of the victim reached the police station around 6pm and registered a complaint against one of the Class XI students.

The family members have alleged that the boy and his friend were leaving the school premises when a few senior students passed a comment on them. When the duo confronted them, an argument broke out between the two groups during which one of them thrashed the teenager and hit him on the head.

A case of causing hurt under section 323 IPC has been registered and the parents of both the youths have been called to police station. Police have also asked the school authorities to intervene and provide them CCTV footages.
